On March 4th and 5th, 2011 the Department of Physical Education and Exercise Science hosted a Sports Nutrition and Exercise Workshop at the Marshall Student Center. The workshop featured two presenters – Nancy Clark and William Evans.
Nancy Clark MS RD CSSD (Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics) is an internationally known sports nutritionist, a best-selling author, and currently offers nutrition consultations to both casual exercisers and competitive athletes at Healthworks, the premier fitness center in Chestnut Hill, MA. Bill Evans, PhD, is Adjunct Professor in the geriatrics program at the Duke University Medical Center. Dr. Evans has conducted numerous sports nutrition and exercise research studies over the past 3 decades and has served as an expert advisor to the NASA space shuttle program.
The two-day workshop included lectures on dieting, exercise and aging, ergogenic aids, and nutrition for exercise and sports. The workshop was attended by individuals from across the United States representing such professions as dieticians, personal trainers, educators, and researchers.
